| The year at Ueda International Pre-school is a wonderful experience for everyone. The younger classes start off each morning with free play, followed by morning circle time. This special time is used to prepare the kids for the day's activities, learn about the calendar, and perform wake up exercises to music. Morning classes consist of physical education, pre reading, art, and pre-math. With students coming from so many different countries there is no telling what mum might pack in the BENTO box. Afternoon activities are more relaxed. Children get chances to sing along during music time and have a laugh during a puppet show game. Last but not least is story time which gets the kids settled down after a long day of learning fun. The older classes begin the day with a more structured approach. Students arrive and instantly work on their reading program or maths and english work. Elementary age students learn best in the morning, so all of the maths and english lessons are done in the early morning. In the afternoon, music, science, p.e, and other lessons are carried out. Students end the day with a story or quiet time and then move onto many of the afterschool activities that are offered. UIP also has a monthly international day where the whole school comes together and sings songs, eat food, and play games of that country. UIP also does many events where the older children get to work with the younger students. Book reading, going to the park, and other activities help the younger students see what their future holds. |
